Unusual antique or very vintage Passover Seder matzo holder stand and top plate, no manufacturer/store/or region made identification, other than the purchase tax sticker indicating that it was bought and tax paid in Israel.
The brass top plate shows Middle Eastern design etchings, and the inside of the legs of the stand are inscribed with non Hebraic inscriptions, somehow it made it's way to the U.S, I don't know it's history, if anyone out there is knowledgeable regarding it's origins, do share.
The repousse stand is either copper or brass, looks handmade to me, the interior sides look like brass, the hinged handles are brass and the legs are brass, and these parts are attached by rivets.
The underside of stand has been painted over along with the inside bottom.
Without the plate atop it measures 5 1/2" tall X 12 1/4" wide, leg to leg measurement is
13 3/4", the brass plate alone is 12 3/8" wide.
It weighs just a drop less than 4 1/2 lbs. alone, that is before boxing, and it will need an extra size box, meaning larger than 12 X 12, choice of shippers offered.
