Here is a Lot of 2 Vintage Birthday Embossed & Engraved POSTCARDS Flowers on Silver Tone, German & American.

I gathered these two cards together, because their colors are very similar, their periods are close to each other, their size is the same and both seem to be about birthdays. Just, one is American and the other one is German.

1- The American one has "Happy Many Returns" embossed at the front, and also embossed beautiful flowers on a foil-like silver slightly textured with lines background. At the front, it is written with a pencil by the person who sent it: "Velma to Helen". At the back, the message and address are also written with a pencil. Obviously it was sent and received in Ohio. The message is a little unclear and talks about pictures not received. The paper stamp is missing, but the ink stamp allows us to see that it was sent in 1909 in Ohio.

2- The German one has "Herzlichen Gluckwunsch zum Geburstage" engraved at the front. It means: "Friendly Good Wishes For Your Birthday" in German. The font makes me think of Mucha: very Art Nouveau style, which makes sense. The ink stamps at the back don't allow us to see clearly the year, but at the front, the sender wrote a note with ink, in German, and wrote a place, and the date, so it was very probably sent in 1904. The flowers and vase are embossed at the front, they almost look hand-painted, all this on a foil-like silver background. At the back, there is only the address written with ink, because the postcards were not divided yet. There is one beautiful green paper stamp, and two ink stamps which unfortunately are not clear enough to allow us to read anything, we can only guess the city where it was stamped and sent: Forchheim, it is in Bavaria.

Size of each Card: 5 3/8" long x 3 1/2" wide

Condition: These postcards are very old and have their usual wears due to their age, like creases, worn edges, the American one has its paper stamp missing. On both, something is written at the front as well, they have yellowed with time. But overall, considering their old age, they are in a rather good vintage, even antique, condition.
