It is a handmade colored wooden-based toy, made in Mexico, which consists of a top accompanied by a rope, winding it around the top and pulling on one of its ends while throwing it against the ground (the top is made to rotate on its tip). Some players throw them to try to knock down the other spinning tops. It is believed that it has an archaic origin associated with rituals of divination and interpretation of omens at a certain time of the year since it is used to recreate the movement of the stars.
