Ancient Roman Bronze Coin 307-337 A.D. Constantine 1 "the great" almost 1700 years old.
These bronze coins were issued by Constantine the Great, and circulated throughout ancient Rome during his reign. On the obverse of the coin is a portrait of Constantine the Great, rendered in the typical style of fourth century Roman art. On the reverse is a patriotic message of propaganda extolling the virtues of the Emperor, or the greatness and power of the Roman Empire. The rough appearance of the coin is a result of each coin being hand-minted, and is also a testament to the fact that it saw actual and daily circulation in the ancient Rome over 1600 years ago.
