Website now live with more information about product ☺️

After lots of requests I have added bushes on checkout (Flat Rate @ £1.99) which thickens the peg that slots into the hook on the boot lid trim. This gives you an even more secure connection.

The Listing

Please read before buying . Original brackets are NOT included . They are purely there for illustration purposes.

If you haven’t got the original brackets please see my other listing for the SHJ parcel shelf replacement brackets.

Where to start.

This is a must have for anyone who has a Ford Puma. Stop your brackets from splitting for good.

This design is such a poor design for a “Parcel Shelf / Load Cover”. Even without having anything in the boot or loading something on top it still has the capabilities of falling off at any point. Remember the old game Buckeroo?

8 months ago I went to the dealer and looked around £20,000 Ford Puma. When walking around the car i opened and closed the boot, I heard a thud on closing, opened the boot again and the parcel shelf had half fell off with the clips just rolling around in the boot. The dealer assured me this was a one off and ordered me some new LH + RH parcel shelf brackets/Clips. The car was lovely and i wasn’t going to let a parcel shelf stop me from getting the car i wanted.

Fast forward 4 months. The parcel shelf spends 3/4 of the time as a mat in the boot and 1/4 of the time hanging on for its life. After numerous calls to the dealer and reading forums the solution is; F*ck it off to the loft, Buy new brackets and hope, Ignore it or carefully apply super glue.

No.

I have the perfect solution and it isn’t a cowboy or bodge job.

These clips locate 1 either side of the load cover through the peg and slot back into the boot trim, so they never split again! The other issue i found was the ball joints for the string to hang onto were a similar size which caused it to fall off all the time. I have also created a small insert which slides in perfectly to close the gap slightly on the peg to make it harder to remove.

What you will receive;

- 2 x Clips for LH + RH Brackets which just slot on

- 4 x Inserts for the clips onto the ball joint (2 spare incase you drop them!)

All parts are designed and printed by me out of PETG filament. This is a filament which deals well with heat and retains its shape I.e. Doesn't deform over time. The material is flexible to and extent, but it will snap if too much force is applied as it is plastic.

Installation Step + Tips;

Remove the parcel shelf from the car before fitting.

Fit 2 inserts (1 Either side) Into the ball joint with the slope going up towards the centre clip. This pushes it inboard to make the ball joint clip tighter.

Fitting of the LH + RH Clips (Clips fit both sides) - Locate the peg through the hole with the split in - Slightly open and press onto the original ford bracket. This will then slide on without causing to much stress on the plastic. When fully located the peg will be through both holes.

When fitting back onto the car - Push on both ball joint clips (String pieces) - Then clip either side of the original ford brackets back into the boot trim.

If you ever want to unclip the parcel shelf from the boot trim i find it a lot easier to knock up the shelf from the bottom of it, instead of pulling at the brackets as this puts a lot of stress on the cheap boot lid clips.

Please if you have any questions don’t hesitate in asking.

I use these clips on my daily with no issues and is a cheap presentable fix for me.
