The new mini-album from the series about the most outstanding Polish poster artists deals with the work of Franciszek Starowieyski, a graphic artist, painter, illustrator, set designer and performer.
Starowieyski designed over three hundred excellent posters, most of which were made for film, theater and festivals. His works, clearly inspired by Baroque art, are a unique combination of realism and surrealism as well as sensuality and transience, astonishing with their message and delighting with their heterogeneous form.
Starowieyski has been awarded many times, including: Grand Prix at the Biennale of Contemporary Art in São Paulo (1973), Grand Prix for a film poster at the Cannes Festival (1974) and Grand Prix at the International Festival in Paris (1975).
This mini-album, prepared by Dorota Folga-Januszewska, presents 60 of the artist's most famous posters.
