Domain of Neptunus Rex Certificate.
This is a large certificate (21" x 15.5") given to sailors for their first crossing of the Equator. The certificate is printed in green and black. At the top is an image of Neptune with his trident and two sea horses. At the bottom is a bald eagle grasping a shield and American flag and arrows. An anchor and capstan are to his right. The border of the certificate is decorated with fouled anchors marked USN at the top corners. Mermaids, shrimp, starfish, seahorses and water plants decorate each side. Entwining up the sides and behind the text is are the tentacles of a large octopus.
