ACTIVATED CHARCOAL FILTERS (PACKETS)
Is it necessary to use charcoal filters? Wood charcoal filters out volatile organic compounds (VOCs), such as pesticides and solvents. Charcoal filtration removes these chemicals and enhances the taste of water. Activated wood charcoal components: natural coconut shell. Functions: eliminates odors and improves taste. Shelf life: The activated charcoal packet needs to be changed every 25 days. If the distilled water has an odd taste or odor, replace the activated charcoal packet immediately. Water will be tastier if you use 2 bags at the same time. Do not store unused, partially used, or currently used activated charcoal packets in the refrigerator as they can absorb odors and give the water a bad taste. New activated charcoal packets may release a small amount of black powder, which is completely harmless to the human body. It is just powdered charcoal, and it is safe to use. Sealed activated charcoal packets should be kept in a cool place. When purchasing a new distiller, you will find activated charcoal packets in the package, or they can be purchased separately.

HOW IT WORKS AND DO YOU NEED IT?
The activated charcoal filter consists of small granular charcoal pieces. One gram of activated charcoal surface area covers 500-3000 square meters. 4 grams is equivalent to a football field. This surface area allows filters to efficiently absorb pollutants and other substances.
The ability of activated charcoal filters to remove pollutants varies; they can remove pollutants ranging from about 50 to 0.5 microns.
When water flows through charcoal filters, chemicals adhere to the charcoal, resulting in purer water. Efficiency depends on the water flow and temperature.
WHAT DO ACTIVATED CHARCOAL FILTERS REMOVE?
Activated charcoal removes impurities, odors, and bad taste from water.
Active charcoal effectively removes at least 81 chemical substances. In fact, it's much more, but 81 are the chemicals that have been carefully tested.
The Environmental Protection Agency in the United States states that activated charcoal is the only filter recommended for removing all 32 identified organic pollutants, including byproducts of chlorine. The same applies to 14 pesticides and 12 herbicides.
