Antique copper engraved map of Philippines, Taiwan, southern China with Taiwan, Hainan, Siam, Laos, and Mariana islands, by Rigobert Bonne (1727-1794).

Rigobert Bonne (1727-1794) was one of the most important French cartographers of the 18th Century. In 1773, Bonne succeded to Jacques-Nicolas Bellin as Royal Cartographer to France in the office of the Hydrographer at the Depôt de la Marine.

Bonne produced some of the most detailed and accurate maps of the period. Bonne died in 1794, his son Charles-Marie Rigobert Bonne continued to publish his work after his death.

Condition : good condition, a very small spot in the center, handed colored, on strong paper
