ANRI's polychrome Madonnas represent the workshop at its most demanding — every figure requiring not just a master carver but a master painter working in concert, the warm ochre robes and gold leaf border applied by hand with the same precision as the carving beneath. Most workshops chose one or the other. ANRI did both, at scale, for decades.

This Regina Coeli — Our Lady Queen of Heaven — shows exactly why that combination mattered. The crown sits with complete naturalness, gilded and authoritative. The Child is in her left arm looking outward, one hand raised. She looks slightly ahead, composed, in the way of someone who already knows how the story ends. The mantle falls in warm ochre folds with genuine gold leaf at the border, the cream veil framing a face that is neither remote nor sentimental.

The octagonal stepped base is integral to the figure — cleanly proportioned, finished throughout.

ANRI ceased all production in 2018. This piece will never be made again.
