This superior reproduction on linen paper of the original antique hand colored copperplate engraved map of
“Terra Sancta” was originally published by the famed mapmaker Abraham Ortelius about 1584. This print was given
as a "token of friendship" by the Israeli Ministry of Tourism in 1983.
The map details regions of the 12 tribes. It includes a decorative cartouche in the upper right that depicts
three images from the life of Christ.
Unlike modern maps, this map orients north on the left of the map and must be rotated clockwise to “correct”
the orientation.
The map is professionally framed and measures 18 inches tall and 21 inches long.
Previously owned items are sold "as is".
