First English language edition of Norbu’s autobiography, originally published in German as told by Harrer, this translation by Edward Fitzgerald. Harrer became close with the Dalai Lama in the 40s and 50s, publishing his successful ‘Seven Years in Tibet’. However, he became closer still to the Dalai Lama’s eldest brother, Norbu, and together they worked to create this ‘valuable first-hand account of one of the least documented episodes in modern history’ and ‘human testament of the first order’.
