Oxford Reader Book of Common Prayer BCP 1892 Protestant Episcopal Leather

This is a very old and reader-size Book of Common Prayer according to the 1892 edition for use in the Protestant Episcopal Church. Please look closely at the pictures for the certification year if that is important for you. Very hard to find.

There is no writing that I could find in the book except a blank intro page filled, written with a fountain pen.

The binding is in decent condition. Being around 130 years old, it is worn, has splits at the top, though the text block is in fantastic shape and is not separating from the binding.

I did not see loose signatures. The art gilt page edges has some mild age, but is actually in fantastic condition with no serious scratches or wear.

This would be idea for a rebind or for collectible purposes. I is actually meant to used to be part of a Hymnal/BCP set based on the back “flap.”

I always list any writing, stains, tears, or imperfection of any kind. And I always list the condition conservatively, so you should expect the item to be in better condition than listed. Unlike the vast majority of sellers out there, I refuse to hide imperfections through cleverly taken pictures or obscure descriptions. I try to include as many pictures as necessary to highlight the imperfections rather than the beauty of the items, which is part of why I have an elevated Seller Status and perfect feedback in which many consistently report back “just as described” or “better than described.” If I miss something by accident, please contact me so I can make it right.
