In fair condition. Moderate wear to extremities with scuffing to corners and edges. Joints worn with dryness and creasing. Spine abraded and slightly faded with wear along raised bands. Gilt bright and clean. Marbled boards are scuffed with scratching. Front board nearly detached. Light toning throughout with minor instances of foxing. Free of known markings. Binding intact. First American edition, scarce. Three in one. Thomas Chandler Halliburton (1796-1865) was a Nova Scotia politician, judge and author. He first rose to international fame with this work, which first appeared in the Novascotian and was later published as a book throughout the British Empire. It was popular light reading and recounted the humorous adventures of Sam Slick.
