Dedicated to the launch of an electric tram in the city of Kyiv. The electric tram was created by the inventor and famous engineer Werner von Siemens. In 1881, his company opened the world's first tram connection between Berlin and Lichterfeld. In the same year, electric trains began to run through the streets of Paris. In June 1892, an electric tram started running in Kyiv along one of the steepest in the city Oleksandrivsky Uzvoz (now? Volodymyrsky). Its route ran from Tsarska Square to Nizhnaya Square (now European and Post Square). Siemens' invention turned out to be very useful for the ``city on seven hills''. At the end of the 19th century, Kyiv had almost 50 kilometers of electrified tram tracks.
