HISTORY:  

 Leon Trotsky (Lev Davidovich Bronstein 1879 – 1940),  was a Russian revolutionary, political theorist and Soviet politician. Ideologically a Marxist, his developments to the ideology are called Trotskyism.Born into a wealthy Jewish family in Yanovka, then part of the Russian Empire (now Ukraine), Trotsky embraced Marxism after moving to Nikolayev in 1896. In 1898, he was arrested for revolutionary activities and subsequently exiled to Siberia. He escaped from Siberia in 1902 and moved to London, where he befriended Vladimir Lenin. In 1903, he sided with Julius Martov's Mensheviks against Lenin's Bolsheviks during the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party's initial organisational split. Trotsky helped organize the failed Russian Revolution of 1905, after which he was again arrested and exiled to Siberia. He once again escaped, and spent the following 10 years working in Britain, Austria, Switzerland, France, Spain and the United States. After the 1917 February Revolution brought an end to the Tsarist monarchy, Trotsky returned from New York via Canada to Russia and became a leader in the Bolshevik faction. As chairman of the Petrograd Soviet, he played a key role in the October Revolution of November 1917 that overthrew the new Provisional Government.             

 Karl Heinrich Marx (1818-1883), who from German translates as Karl Henry Marx, was a German communist philosopher, economist, sociologist, journalist, intellectual and politician of Jewish origin. In his vast and influential work he covers different fields of thought in philosophy, history, political science, sociology and economics; although he did not limit his work only to research, since he also dabbled in the practice of journalism and politics, always proposing in his thought a union between theory and practice. Along with Friedrich Engels, he is the father of scientific socialism, modern communism, Marxism, and historical materialism. His best-known works are the Manifesto of the Communist Party (co-authored with Engels) and Capital (volumes II and III published posthumously). Marx is often cited along with Émile Durkheim and Max Weber as one of the three main architects of modern social science; At the same time, along with Friedrich Nietzsche and Sigmund Freud, he is seen as one of the three 19th century masters of the "school of suspicion" by Paul Ricoeur. He has also been described as one of the most influential and controversial figures in history.7 In a 1999 BBC poll, he was voted the "Greatest Thinker of the Millennium" by people around the world.
