Microsoft LAN Manager 2.0, Complete Upgrade Kit for 3Com 3+Open, Opened, but Unused

Includes all Manuals, Licensing, Documentation and Disks

Release date 1991

LAN Manager is a network operating system (NOS) that was originally developed by Microsoft in cooperation with 3Com Corporation. It was designed to succeed 3Com's 3+Share network server software which ran atop a heavily modified version of MS-DOS. In 1990, Microsoft announced LAN Manager 2.0 with a host of improvements, including support for TCP/IP as a transport protocol for SMB, using NetBIOS over TCP/IP (NBT).

This sale is for a complete upgrade kit for 3Com 3+Open. The box has been opened, but the contents were never used and most of the documentation is still in its original shrink wrap. Please note that while this version was meant as an upgrade for existing 3Com customers, a previous version of the 3Com networking system IS NOT required for its installation. This is a complete and wholly independent version of LAN Manager 2.0.

2. 5.25” disks, One set for MS-DOS and One set for OS2 (Unopened)
