HISTORY:   Eddie - "Eddie the Head" or "Edward the Head", is the mascot of the British heavy metal band Iron Maiden. He is an anthropomorphic character who appears on all the covers of the band's different albums, as well as compilations, live albums and singles, as well as merchandise, including t-shirts, posters and action figures. In addition, Eddie has been present at every live performance of the band, represented in various ways. Derek Riggs, its creator, was based on a war propaganda published during the Vietnam War, for the original appearance of this mascot, present on Maiden's first album.The character has undergone modifications and evolutions over time, originally having the form of a kind of zombie, coming to be represented as a cyborg, an Egyptian mummy and a lobotomized mental patient, among others. These variations are directly related to the theme of each album Eddie is the cover of.
