Nice large antique copper engraved map of Scotland by Vincenzo Maria Coronelli (1650-1718), edited by Jean-Baptiste Nolin (1657-1708).

In right side of the map, three insets with maps of the islands of Ferro, Shetland and Orkney.



The famous geographe Vincenzo Coronelli, was an inventor and a doctor of Theology, he was citizen of the Republic of Venice. He was the most prominent mapmakers and publishers in Europe of his time. He is very famous for his very large Globes realised for the King Louis XIV.

J-B Nolin is named geographe for the King Philippe II, then engraver for the King Louis XIV. He realised several plans of the Chateau de Versailles. He worked with Coronelli, and created his own factory in Paris, rue St Jacques.

Condition : good condition, a small repair in the center upper part and in right lower margin, in colors.
