Set of Six Landscape Etchings
by Anthonie Waterloo

These are 19th century impressions on wove paper from the original 17th century plates. All mounted with archival tape to a backing sheet and presented in two folders with three to each folder. Each print is trimmed on or near its platemark, which measures roughly 12 x 20 cm (4 1/2 x 7 3/4 inches).

Anthonie Waterloo (1609-1690) was a Dutch Golden Age landscape painter, draftsman and etcher. Little is known about his early life or about his formal training. Only a few oil paintings are attributed to him, though he produced 136 etchings. He is most remembered for his landscapes, which alongside various topographical views, are found in collections in Berlin, München, Vienna, Amsterdam, or London.
