Product Description
Infrared filters are great fun to play with and produce some
really cool effects. Please note that the filter appears black/red to the
naked eye, and in order to get these filters to work with a non-converted camera you must have a long
exposure, play with the light settings on your camera, the white balance as
well as editing the image after in programs such as lightroom / photoshop
etc. IR filters aren't for everyone, and they do take a little
getting used to, however they are great fun once you get the hang of
them.

🔹 IR 720nm (R72)
Great starting point and all-round filter. Allows the most visible light (reds) through to the filter allowing for the best False Colour effects.
- Requires Shorter Exposures than the other types (with a non-Converted Camera).
- Allows False Colour Images
- Does not create the "ghost" foliage effect as readily.
🔹 IR 850nm (R85)
Blocks more light than the 720nm, so requires longer exposures (with a non-Converted Camera). Best used for black and white shots, creating higher contrast textures and the ghost foliage effect.

- Improves contrast and creates ghost effect foliage in black and white
- Requires a little more patience than the R72
🔹 IR 950nm (R95)
Specialist filter which blocks out the most visible light so requires very long exposures (with a non-converted camera) but creates the highest contrast images in Black and white.
- Longest exposure required.
- High Contrast with ghost effect foliage.
- May be best suited to converted cameras - requires a lot of patience.
Requirements:
- Does NOT require a converted camera (exposure times can be adjusted to suit your camera).
- Tripod and remote shutter is highly recommended (purchase from us and we can offer a combined purchase discount).
- Patience. Due to the long exposer required it can take a few attempts to get the desired effect.
- Sunlight - these work best in bright summer sunshine.
- Experimentation - we recommend shooting in RAW / NEF and editing on the PC to get the best result. Adjusting the camera white balance and other settings can also help.
