This album is the musical history of the roads to independence recorded in the soldier's song from the times of the November Uprising, January Uprising and Legions to the period of occupation and World War II.
Soldiers' songs have been written for centuries, from Bogurodzica to the present day. The treasury of national songs was enriched not only by famous poets and musicians, but also by the people of villages and cities, soldiers and insurgents, whose names have not been preserved by history. Many times we know little about the songs themselves, although successive generations know and sing them.
On the album we present beautiful performances by Kazimierz Pustelak, Józef Wojtan and the Polish Radio Choir and Orchestra under the direction of prof. Jerzy Kołaczkowski.
