The picturesque miniature boxes of the Fedoskino school are known around the world. Fedoskino caskets are created by masters manually, painted with thin squirrel tassels, using mother of pearl and paints created according to an old recipe. The mineral dye is mixed with egg yolk, water and vinegar, getting bright, saturated colors.
The “Dear in the forest” casket by professional artist Andrey Parmeonov drawn with high precision and subtlety of execution, which is inherent in the style of Fedoskino.
The artist depicted a deer standing on a meadow in a mountain forest and proudly holding its head. Notice how beautifully painted the sky is, where the blue fades to white, and the forest trees and bushes and rock are visible in the background. Notice how detailed each branch is drawn. The scene is painted in brown, blue and green colors and looks quite realistic. All the details of the deer and nature are done with a very fine brush in the artist's characteristic manner.
The box is made of papier-mâché. Black lacquer covers the outside and red lacquer covers the inside of the box.
The lid folds up, the box rests on four small legs. At the bottom of the picture, further to the left edge, the work is signed with the name of the artist.
At the final stage, the box is varnished, which is leveled and polished until it shines with a mirror shine.
