Sambar is a kind of legume or vegetable stew or soup. Sambar often is served over steamed rice and also with idly, dosa, vada, etc. 777 madras sambar powder, which enables one to make the traditional Madras (now chennai) style sambar at home.
Ingredients:
Chilies, Coriander, Lentils, Fenugreek, Turmeric and Asafoetida.
Direction:
-Cook one cup of thoor dhall (about 100g) in 3 cups of water fully till it is smashed.
-In another vessel, take 2 cups of tamarind juice from 30g of tamarind.
-Add to this, 100g chopped vegetables, required quantity of salt and 15g of 777 Madras Sambar Powder and boil the contents.
-Now add th readily kept cooked thoor dhall to this and simmer for ten minutes.
-Add one teaspoon of mustard, fenugreek and curry leaves seasoned in ghee/ oil and serve hot along with fresh coriander leaves.
-This sambar is sufficient for 6 persons.
