Granular activated carbon filters are not the right filter for filling tanks.

Water scientists have all known this for a long time.

Granular activated carbon (GAC) filters will quickly clog with Australian Bore Water cue to the oxidation and mineralisation of the bore water minerals that will 'cake' within the crevices and cracks of a standard carbon filter.

GAC filters cannot reduce the dissolved minerals found in Australian Bore Water

Protect your appliances from scale, dirt, rust, dust and sediment

Fill your tanks with the RIGHT type of water filter, then purify your water in the van with our "5 in 1" purifier

High flow, expansive surface area

1 micron polyspun sediment filter removes visible particulate matter, dirt, sand, dust, and debris & turbidity from water

Within the core of our sediment fitler is Corosex® Media

Corosex media raises the Ph of hard water to provide balance and improved taste and reduce the calcium, magnesium and iron typically found in Bore Water.

Corosex media is a food-grade media, certified to NSF 60

Corosex media reduces the dissolved minerals of calcium, magnesium and iron

If you're using a granular activated carbon filter to fill your van, unfortunately, these minerals oxidise and a bacteria film forms within the carbon filters and then clogs carbon filters.

PLEASE NOTE: Thirsty Nomad has recently updated the fittings for their products from chrome to plastic. Instructions included may still state 'chrome' fittings as they are in the process of updating all their materials.
