Expedition Series Synthetic Rope Winches rely on a woven, 39' synthetic fiber rope instead of a traditional winch's steel rope. Synthetic rope matches steel rope's tensile strength but are easier to handle and reduce weight when compared to steel rope. Synthetic ropes also do not develop sharp burs or store as much potential energy when under load as steel ropes.
