The average weight of the coin is 12.5 g. and is composed of 90% silver and 10% copper.The coins were minted at the San Francisco, Philadelphia, and New Orleans mints. Starting with 1906, some dates were also minted in Denver. After 1909, coins were no longer minted in New Orleans.
