The Russia 5,000 Rubles Banknote was issued by the Bank of Russia in 1997 with a small vertical Russian text 2010 at the left side of the obverse. The note comes in a color combination of red and brown. Its obverse depicts a statue of Nikolay Nikolayevich Muravyov-Amursky, the promontory tower in Khabarovsk with a commercial ship, the Khabarovsk coat of arms in crimson-to-green Optically Variable Ink, and the bank seal in OVI. The reverse of the paper bill depicts the automobile bridge across the Amur River at the border between Russia and China. The banknote contains a 3-mm wide windowed security thread with a demetallized 5000, a watermark that displays a vertical 5000 at the left and an image of Nikolay Nikolayevich Muravyov-Amursky with an electrotype 5000 at the right. The banknote measures 157 x 69 mm and is in uncirculated condition.
