How It Works:

Recoil inserts are made from high strength stainless steel wire, wound to the shape of a spring thread.  

The insert is compressed during installation then allowed to spring back, permanently anchoring it in place.  

Because it is bigger, the Recoil insert has greater contact area and is normally stronger than the original thread. 

Instructions:

1. Drill to clear out the damaged thread with suggested drill.
2. Check to ensure tap thread matches the bolt.
3. Tap thread carefully using correct procedures.
4. Place insert on installation tool, positioning the adj. stop so the insert tang is centered in the tang slot
5. Wind insert in the with light downward pressure until 1/4 - 1/2 turn below the surface.
