Though the exact characteristics of the material depend on how it's
processed, it tends to be durable and soft. It is often said to be
environmentally friendly, fully biodegradable and made from trees
managed for sustained harvest.
Characteristics: Tencel is soft, absorbent, very strong when wet or dry, and resistant to wrinkles;
lyocell fabric can be machine- or hand-washed or dry cleaned, it drapes
well, and it can be dyed many colors, and can simulate a variety of
textures such as suede, leather, and silk.
Jacquard weaving makes possible in almost any loom the programmed raising of each warp thread independently of the others. This brings much greater versatility to the weaving process, and offers the highest level of warp yarn control.
