Handmade by me Solid 14K white Gold, Clasp, Extension wire, jump rings, beads and wrapping wire for the end drop Sterling Silver crimps and Cable thimbles ( U shaped ends ) Stainless Steel Jewelry wire Approximately 49 Carats Natural Gems 4.2mm - 7mm: Neon Apatite Opals
Adjustable Length - 21.38" - 22" 54.3cm - 56cm
This gorgeous piece has runs of bright blue opals and smooth opal drops set between coin shaped apatite gems. I've arranged the gems so that this can be worn as a necklace or a wrap bracelet that goes around the wrist 3 times. The opal drops burst into color outside in the sun and look great opposite from the smooth blue opals.
This piece is strung on flex wire for a comfortable to wear piece.
The clasp is a strong lobster style clasp.
This will come in a pretty gift box.
Thanks for looking:)
Esther
Opal:
Ethiopian Opal - The new Opals from the Welo district of Ethiopia discovered in 2008 have proven to be extremely stable despite their porosity, able to absorb water and change transparency or opacity, then revert back to their original state with no adverse reaction or cracking.
Blue Apatite
Apatite is most often seen in blue, but also can be found in brown, pink, yellow, green (from Spain called asparagus stone) and a rare variety of violet.
Although apatite is a very common mineral, transparent gemstone-quality apatite is extremely rare. Despite apatite being the defining mineral for 5 on the Mohs scale of mineral hardness, it remains virtually unknown to most consumers and is seldom found in jewelry stores. However, because apatite occurs in such a wide variety of attractive colors and forms, it is a favorite among gemstone collectors. Connoisseurs often seek out rare colors such as Paraiba-like blue-green apatite or leek-green apatite, which is known as 'asparagus stone'.
