The Freebird Cafe was a music venue in Jacksonville Beach, Florida.
Owned by the late, great Lynyrd Skynyrd leader and vocalist Ronnie Van Zant's widow Judy Van Zant-Jenness and their daughter Melody Van Zant. The Freebird Cafe first opened its doors in September 1999, with a concert by the Charlie Daniels Band. The cafe featured Lynyrd Skynyrd memorabilia, food and recorded music. The venue was a popular addition to the tour schedules of many successful bands, including Gregg Allman Band, Dickey Betts & Great Southern .... After 17 years being active the Freebird Cafe closed its doors in January 2016.
This shirt was purchased new from the venue in 2002. It was a souvenir from a friend and has only been worn a handful of times. It shows a little cracking around the print lettering, as you would expect, but is in otherwise fantastic condition for a 20 year old t-shirt.
Part of music venue history and a great collector's piece for any Lynyrd Skynyrd and Southern Rock fan.
