Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKP)

The Crankshaft Position Sensor is required by the computer to locate the

crankshaft position which is used by the computer for ignition timing and fuel injection

timing control.

Location: The Crankshaft Position Sensor may be located behind the harmonic balancer, on

the front of the crankshaft, inserted into the transmission bell housing or directly into the

engine block at the crankshaft level.

Failure Symptoms: Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) illumination, engine no-start/no-spark

condition, occasional cylinder misfire, engine die-out or no-start after extended driving

condition with an engine re-start after a cool down period.

La computadora requiere el sensor de posición del cigüeñal para localizar el

posición del cigüeñal que usa la computadora para la sincronización del encendido y la inyección de combustible

control de tiempo.

Ubicación: el sensor de posición del cigüeñal puede ubicarse detrás del equilibrador armónico, en

la parte delantera del cigüeñal, insertada en la carcasa de la campana de transmisión o directamente en el

bloque del motor a nivel del cigüeñal.

Síntomas de falla: iluminación de la luz indicadora de mal funcionamiento (MIL), motor sin arranque / sin chispa

condición, falla ocasional del cilindro, motor apagado o sin arranque después de una conducción prolongada

condición con un arranque del motor después de un período de enfriamiento.
