A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

Star Wars is an American epic space opera franchise centered on a film series created by George Lucas.  The film series began with Star Wars, released on May 25, 1977. This was followed by two sequels: The Empire Strikes Back, released on May 21, 1980, and Return of the Jedi, released on May 25, 1983. Then more than two decades after the release of the original film, the series continued with a prequel trilogy; consisting of Episode I: The Phantom Menace, released on May 19, 1999; Episode II: Attack of the Clones, released on May 16, 2002; Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, released on May 19, 2005; and  finally the epic saga concluded with Star Wars: The Force Awakens released on December 18, 2015; Star Wars: The Last Jedi was released on December 18, 2017. And Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was released on December 20, 2019.

Tag Greenley and Bink Otauna are a pair of hapless ex-stormtroopers who stumble their way through a series of misadventures in the Star Wars universe. Not only do they each possess the marksmanship of a blind nerf herder, but the ability to survive a variety of situations through dumb luck.

Officers Tag Greenley and Bink Otauna were minding their own business aboard a familiar, princess-harboring freighter when they suddenly found themselves under siege. Now under attack by the Empire, they will choose life over a noble death and 'borrow' the armor off a pair of deceased stormtroopers. Their new disguises might get them off the freighter alive, but they'll also lead Tag and Bink on adventures neither could have predicted...

Story/Spoliers

In issue #1, Episode IV.1 Tag and Bink Are Dead

It is a period of great strife and turmoil at DARK HORSE COMICS. With Episode II still months away, editors struggle to meet the demand for new STAR WARS comics, brought on by a ravenous and unforgiving fan base. Dark Horse Editor DAVE LAND, in a move that he now regrets, commissions the ever late, always procrastinating KEVIN RUBIO to concoct a two part comedic story about two young Rebel officers set during the time of Episode IV. Even now as you read this, Kevin struggles to meet the deadline for the next book, and artist LUCAS MARANGON is slowly going insane because of the impossible visuals Kevin has asked for in the limited time that is left to draw the book. Turn the page and let the hilarious adventures commence…

Tag Greenly and Bink Otauna are rebel officers fighting against Emperor Palpatine and his army -- until one fateful day, aboard a freighter carrying Princess Leia and the stolen plans for the Death Star, their lives change forever. During an attack on the freighter, Tag and Bink choose life over death, and "borrow" the armor off a pair of deceased stormtroopers to avoid being killed. Their new disguises get them off the freighter alive and send them off on an adventure neither of them could have predicted!

Finally in issue #2, Episode IV.1 Tag and Bink Live

It is a dark time for Dark Horse Comics. Numerous death threats and two failed assassination attempts have done little to curb the procrastinating tendencies of the writer, who in the last issue wrote himself into a hole by killing the main characters in the first part of a two issue series… Or did he? After endless amounts of research, four outlines, three complete rewrites, and two computers late Kevin finally felt comfortable enough with his efforts to turn in a draft. (Okay, truth be told I was in serious danger of never being hired to do another story again.) So, when we last left Bink and Tag they were screaming down a trench being pursued by the ''Millennium Falcon''… Or were they? Did Tag and Bink actually die? Were they able to escape the destruction of the all-powerful Death Star? Turn the page and see…

Tag Greenly and Bink Otauna are dead. The two rebel soldiers chose to disguise themselves as Stormtroopers to escape the icy clutch of death. Eventually they found their way onto the Death Star where they (along with everyone else on the battle station) were blown to smithereens. That's how issue #1 of Tag and Bink Are Dead ended. So, if they're dead -- how exciting is the second issue going to be?! PLENTY! And it's HILARIOUS to boot! Make sure not to miss this final chapter in the lives of Tag & Bink!
