19th Century framed engraving print - engraved by Jean Pierre Marie Jazet from an aquatint etching by Henri-Frederic Schopin.
Printed by Goupil & Vibert 1st Sept 1844.
The scene features an Arab family surprised by a lion in the desert. The detail is superb.
The print is framed behind glass in a heavy gilt frame.
The print and frame show signs of age - there are watermarks to the left and right side of the print as shown, also some white marks on the rocks below the lion. There are some chips to the frame as would be expected for a piece of this age.
The print measures 92.5cm x 67cm approx. Frame measures 100cm x 75cm approx
