Photo Mar 9, 1917 Omega Tau Sigma Alpha Chapter Hotel Rittenhouse Philadelphia Rau Art Studios.
The veterinary Omega Tau Sigma Fraternity Alpha Chapter was creates at the University of Pennsylvania in 1906. Rau Art Studios Phila. may be the studio of photographer William Herman Rau.
The 4th photograph has the Rau Studio information, the 5th photograph has the Omega information, the text is out of focus, I can retake the photo if you wish. I took some photographs without a flash.
There is waviness to the photographic paper. The photograph is heavily worn and has many marks.
Framed under glass. The glass is cracked at the top left corner, front left edge to top edge in a 5 inch curve. The glass is cracked completely through. Total size is 12.5 x 16.5 inches. Size of the photograph is 9 x 13 inches. Bottom center written is 'Omega Tau Sigma, Alpha Chapter Hotel Rittenhouse, Phila. Mar. 9. 1917' and written in the right bottom corner, 'Rau Art Studios Phila. PA. 915.' The photograph looks to be on a card, but it has moved a little, so seller does not know how it is attached if at all to the card. Approximately 1.25 inches between the photograph and the sides. Lots of marks, spotting, fading on the photograph and card. Lots of wear, scratch and marks on the frame. The back card, which heavily worn, tape at edges, which is peeling off and heavily worn, a small framers label, 'F. W. Hero Son 364 Main ST. baton Rouge, La.' Some of the label has worn away, so the name may be incomplete. The hanging wire is missing, side loops are still there. Glass is dirty, needs cleaning and is slightly loose.
