Oregano – Aromatic Herb

** Approx 3000 seeds**

Hardy evergreen perennial

Oregano is an aromatic edible Mediterranean herb. They are attractive compact plants, with soft hairy olive-green leaves and small white flowers in mid-summer. Plants grow to a height of about 50cm. They can be grown in pots and in the garden, making good edging plants.

Oregano grows best in sun to part shade and well-drained soil. For cooking, the leaves can be used fresh or dried and are great for Greek and Italian cooking.

Sow all year on the surface of a tray of seed compost. Press the seeds into the compost and do not exclude light, which is needed for germination. Keep at around 20°C and germination takes 1-2 weeks. Sowing instructions and a colour photo are printed on the seed packet.
