For sale is an impact fragment of a meteorite (also known as moldavite).  These fragments come from a notable meteorite strike that took place near southern Germany and the Czech Republic about 15 million years ago.

 Moldavite (also called Bouteille Stone or vltavin) is a natural glass that is believed to have formed in the heat of an asteroid impact. This event occurred approximately 15 million years ago, and a splatter of hot glass formed a strewn field across central Europe.

·      The fragments measure about 15mm to 20mm long (1.5cm to 2cm) long and may differ slightly from what is pictured in the photos (i.e. some are rounder, some are flatter). 

·      The fragments weigh approximately 7-9 carats (1.4 to 1.8 grams) a piece.

·      The composition formula for these fragments is Variable SiO2+(AL2O3)
