An unusual item, may have been on a building at one time, seller does not know age and seller is unsure where it came from, prior owner did say Metairie/ New Orleans. No information on the metal. Be sure to look at all the photographs for the rust on the back and the many holes.

Old Metal Frieze New Orleans Art Decorative Ornament Lacquered Wood Framed 14/22

Size is 14x 22 inches. Made of an old rusted thin metal. One side has a finish put on it, giving it a dull gilt appearance, could be a lacquer or paint, the other side is completely rusted. There are many small and some bigger holes in the metal, really noticeable when held up to the light. Attached to a wood frame at the back by some kind of staples along the edges. Bottom right corner has some edge metal missing but not much and top right some metal loose from a staple. Prior owner stated it came from Metairie/ New Orleans, Louisiana. Bought in Baton Rouge, October 2019. No hanging wire, old and has lots of wear and damage. Weighs 2 lbs. No labels or manufacturer's marks. Seller does not know how to describe the motif/art on the metal, of you do, a message would be appreciated.
