For sale is a Nice example of an early 17th century Chinese Ming Dynasty bronze statue of the god Erlang Shen二郎神 which was made in The Chinese Ming Dynasty dates from 1368 - 1644. The base is of typical construction of a Ming piece with the square 4 legged base and the way the statue is pegged through the base. Erlang Shen is a Chinese God with a third truth-seeing eye in the middle of his forehead, he is known as the greatest warrior god in heaven. The overall condition is consistent with age and use, has an incredible patina (very nice, rich brown), and there are a couple very stable fractures on the lower legs. This statue displays beautifully. It is about 6" tall.
