I have been in business for 25 years and vintage jewelry is my passion! ***Please note: it is not uncommon for vintage and antique gold jewelry to sometimes test at a lower karat, even though hallmarked 14k or 585 and acid tested 14k can test at a lower karat (13-13.5-13.75k) via a spectrometer machine. This is not unusual on older pieces due to metals mixed used in the past and less stringent guidelines. A quick google search will confirm this. The piece is still considered 14k gold and sold as such in jewelry stores and the industry. Just want to add this for education to consumers that may not know.***
