 - A VINTAGE, ART DECO, HAND BEVEL-MATTED LITHOGRAPH FROM A BOOK OF FIRST EDITION FASHION DESIGNS DONE BY FAMOUS ARTIST, 'Erte'.   THE PICTURE IS ON MEDIUM WEIGHT, GLOSSY PAPER AND MATTED IN AN OFF WHITE, ACID FREE MATTE (or one of the many colour choices I have in stock by request).

~  Saving the picture in a suitable web format tends to degrade the quality of the image.  The mat boards may appear blotchy & colours in the image will vary slightly depending on your monitor.  The originals are of a much higher quality. 

~  After Being Matted, Each Print Is Put Into A Clear Cellophane Envelope, Then Between Two Stiff Support Boards & Packed Into A Rigid Mailer.

*** WHERE I FIND MY PICTURES ***

I collect my old pictures from what are called "breaker" copies. These are books that have broken spines or the pages are even separated from the covers, but they leave the contents - including the plates - in a condition suitable for framing. This gives them new life and purpose when they otherwise might be discarded! 

** Breaker: an illustrated book which is in such poor condition that its only value is in the plates which might be removed for framing.

    Erté is perhaps most famous for his elegant fashion designs which capture the art deco period in which he worked.   His delicate figures and sophisticated, glamorous designs are instantly recognizable, and his ideas and art still influence fashion into the 21st century.  The designs created by Erté during his long and illustrious life influenced not only the world of theatre, film and fashion, but an entire art movement as well.
