In 2019 on May 16th, 2 postage stamps dedicated to the theme “Armenian history. Historical capitals of Armenia” are put into circulation.
These are the last two capitals of the Historical capitals of Armenia series and conclude the series which was started back in 2009.
The postage stamp with the nominal value of 160 AMD depicts Ani city (X century A.D.) and pictures the Cathedral of Ani, which was built by the architect Trdat in 989-1001. The right part of the postage stamp depicts an old bowl and the map of Ani city.
The postage stamp with the nominal value of 170 AMD depicts Yerevan city (XX century A.D.) and pictures the panoramic view of Yerevan. The left part of the postage stamp depicts the map of Yerevan city as well as a bowl used at the beginning of the 20th century.
