Self-adhesive acoustic isolation tape designed for use within stud walls, floors, ceilings and other sound insulation constructions where a resilient layer is required between adjoining building components.
The tape is manufactured from grey neoprene foam rubber and supplied in a generous 30 metre roll. Choose from 30mm, 50mm, 70mm or 95mm widths to suit different timber battens, joists, studs and metal framing profiles.
Plasterboard, flooring and framing components that are fitted directly against one another can transmit vibration through the structure. Installing a resilient acoustic strip between these contacting surfaces helps reduce direct mechanical contact and can assist in limiting structure-borne vibration and flanking noise as part of a correctly designed acoustic system.
The self-adhesive backing makes installation straightforward. Ensure the application surface is clean, dry and free from dust or loose contamination. Remove the release backing and press the tape firmly along the stud, joist, batten or metal channel.
Once positioned, plasterboard, floorboards or the relevant construction layer can be installed over the resilient strip. The adhesive is intended primarily to keep the tape correctly positioned during installation.
