Windsor-Richards wrote books for children on his observations of nature around the Lakes District in England; this one is about Fawn, the roe-deer, and her escape from wild dogs in the woodlands. Beautiful wrap-around dustjacket, endpapers and black & white drawings by Edward Osmond (highly praised UK artist in the 1950's & 60's).
