Appears to be Award Winning American illustrator Michael Hague's first illustrated book.
He continues to produce best-selling picture books.

The beautiful meadow flowers are reminiscent of Cicely Mary Barker and Jill Barklem's flower and fairy illustrations.
Published by the famous Green Tiger Press, who produced special illustrated children's picture books through the 1960's and 1970's.
