The binding seems to be in excellent condition.  I notice a very few pages with underlining - see photographs. This also has the original student's name and address on the inside front cover.  This was Warren Jake Wicker, who attended UNC-Chapel Hill and NC State University after serving in WWII.  He later became Professor Emeritus in the School of Government at UNC-Chapel Hill.

The book covers a wide range of types of speeches, and discusses how to prepare and present speeches. Professor Wicker was known for his public speaking, so one feels this book must have been quite useful.
