You might be wondering: Why do I need a shower filter?

There are many reasons for purchasing a shower filter but the most common, and what most shower filters are designed to do, is remove Chlorine.

Why do we need to remove Chlorine?

Although it is a disinfectant in most municipal water supplies, Chlorine is also an irritant and so it is important to eliminate it from our bathing water as much as possible.

At higher temperatures (such as within shower water) Chlorine can be turned into a poisonous gas which is then inhaled. Chronic exposure to Chlorine can result in the exacerbation & even the development of Asthma in previously healthy individuals.

Residual Chlorine has strong oxidizing properties which can cause proteins to bond. The skin layer is oxidized, decreasing it's ability to hold on to water. This leaves you with rough, dry skin & hair and impurities in the water can cause skin irritation and itching, causing dandruff, damaged, brittle hair, premature loss of hair colour & the worsening of pre-existing skin conditions such as Psoriasis & Eczema.
