This
record is in very good condition. It does have some spindle marks visible on each
label but there are no pen marks, stains or scuffs anywhere. The centres show minor wear but are not loose
or worn. Overall the iconic red/plum labels are clean, bright and in good shape with all text legible and no serious issues to report. They do of course have the 'Peter Grant' credit as found on the UK 1st pressing.
As
for the vinyl itself, both sides are free from anything deep or really serious
but do have signs of use and age with light scratches, lines and marks showing. These are not hugely noticeable but can be seen in normal light, with more light wispy lines evident under bright light. Overall the vinyl is used and has signs of this with lines and light scratches as I say. I have tried to capture the worst looking ones in the pictures above. There is no lines that are heavy or can easily be felt.
I
play tested the record and it played nicely overall with audio that was still a great listen but was also as you can imagine from a VG record not pristine. Firstly it lays flat on the deck and upon playing there is only the most minor fraction of upward movement on both sides.
The audio has no skips or sticks and no loud prolonged series of tics or loud disruptive tics. It does have some splutters and noises in places but the general audio is closer to a grade of EX. I noted the following during the play test:
Side 1: Crunches and splutters in the run in before track 1 plays well. Some light surface noise and splutters between track 1 and 2. A few light crunches at very end of track 2 and just into track 3. Light splutters of surface noise and minor noises in quiet intro track 4. Then excellent until the end of the side.
Side 2:Light surface noise and spluttering in the run in and early stages of the quiet intro to track 1. The odd minor noise in track 3. Some light crunches in the intro to track 4; not loud but maybe 5 or 6 audible at start of track. The odd noise or light pop in the last couple of tracks.
Other than the periods of noises I mention above, which more than likely read worse than they are the general audio is of good clarity with no heavy crackling, distortion or other issues.
Overall it is a solid grade of VG both visually and audibly. It is not perfect of course but is still a very enjoyable listen.
The
fully gatefold laminated sleeve
is in excellent condition and its wheel is fully functional. It has no major wear or issues to the edges and corner with just very slight bruising to the corners. The spine is strong, square and straight with all text legible. There are no tears, scuffs or pen marks and hardly any creasing to the front. There is a thin patch of laminate creasing to the top of the rear however. There is also some light 'discolouring' throughout and some faint laminate 'marking' on both sides but also with a faint streak to the rear. Inside there is no stand out issues and overall it is strong and in excellent condition with just mild age related issues. I have tried to describe the
sleeve as best I can but please
study the pictures provided to gain as much information as possible as
to its condition.
It
contains its original plain white poly-lined inner which is in very good+
condition. This is strong and has no splits or tears. It does have the catalogue number written in one corner however and also some creasing. I will of course include the original but will send the record in a brand new plain white replacement.
The record will be packaged in between cardboard stiffeners and bubble wrapped thoroughly when dispatched. It will also be sent in a brand new protective plastic sleeve within 24hrs of receiving payment to try to ensure a swift delivery.
I hope my photos are comprehensive enough but if you have any questions then don't hesitate to contact me. Also please check my eBay feedback for a positive history of record grading, A1 communication and quick delivery times.
