A low-profile fixed-temperature detector for compatible conventional fire-alarm systems. It responds when the monitored temperature rises above approximately 60°C and is suited to correctly designed locations where a smoke detector may be inappropriate.

What is supplied?

1 × new ESP FHD-2 detector head and 1 × compatible B24RD Schottky diode base.

The diode base assists zone continuity monitoring when a detector head is removed, subject to the design and capabilities of the connected conventional fire panel.

Important: system detector only

This is not a stand-alone domestic heat alarm and does not sound independently. It must be connected to a compatible conventional fire-alarm control panel. Confirm the panel, zone circuit, end-of-line arrangement and detector selection before ordering.

Application and installation

Fixed-temperature heat detectors may be selected for appropriately designed kitchens, garages, workshops and other areas where normal airborne particles could make smoke detection unsuitable. Final detector type, quantity and positioning must follow the fire-risk assessment and system design.

Fire-alarm equipment should be designed, installed, commissioned and maintained by a suitably competent person in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, BS 5839 where applicable, and all relevant requirements. Any associated fixed electrical installation work must comply with the current edition of BS 7671 IET Wiring Regulations.
